Experience Japanese culture with these events! (Nov. 21st)
On the 21st, various events that allow non-Japanese residents to experience Japanese culture firsthand. Check out the times of events in the list below.
- Kimono Wearing Experience
Place: International Conference Center Hiroshima (ICCH), Cosmos 2 (B2F)
Time: ①10:00 am – 11:00 am ②1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Number of Participants: For both ① & ② a max. of 10 people each, 20 in total.
Details:
Event is open to women only. (A participation fee of 500 yen is required. Kimono and all necessary accessories are provided for. Each participant will have a total of 30 minutes to walk around and take photos, etc.)
- Cool Japan Tea Ceremony
Place: ICCH, Japanese room (3F)
Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Details:
Study the style of Ueda Sōko, an ancient tea master who has over a 400 year history in Hiroshima! (A participation fee of 300 yen is required, which covers one bowl of matcha and a traditional sweet.)
- Try Your Hand at Shodō Using Traditional Style Paper!
Place: ICCH, Cosmos ① (B2F)
Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Details:
Try your hand at writing your favorite words using a calligraphy brush on traditional Japanese paper, or post cards, as well as creating the paper yourself! Participation is free so be sure not to miss out!
- Ikebana Viewing Experience
Place: ICCH, lobby in front of B2F Cosmos
Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Details:
View various works from various styles of Ikebana disciplines. Event is free of charge.
How do I apply?
Registration is required for Kimono, tea ceremony, and Shodō experience events. Please call or send an e-mail to the Peace Culture Foundation, International Relations & Cooperation Division to make a reservation (E-mail: festa2021@pcf.city.hiroshima.jp).
