Provisional Special Benefit for Residents Tax-Exempt Households

Around the country, due to the ongoing state caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, households have faced a variety of challenges in regards to the way they live and work. For this reason, the government has developed a special temporary stipend to be distributed to households that are exempt from FY2021 residents tax, in order to aid in fast relief and to keep families thriving.

Hours: 9 am – 5:15 pm (Closed Sat., Sun., and national holidays)

Allowance amount and eligible individuals

Amount: 100,000 yen per household

Application period: Applications need to be postmarked by September 30th, 2022.

Eligibility: To be eligible, households will have to meet the qualifications listed below. Receiving repeated payments is not possible. Those who will or have applied to the special benefit for households where their annual income fell after January 1st, 2021, qualifying them for tax exempt status, are not be able to apply.


[Qualification]
All members of the household were exempt from residents tax for the 2021 fiscal year (Reiwa 3) as of December 10th, 2021 (flat rate).

How to apply

(1) For all members who have been living in Hiroshima City since January 1st, 2021 or earlier
 The city has sent forms to eligible individuals directly. Please confirm the contents, and fill in any needed areas before sending back.

Note:
The city has already sent out forms to eligible individuals. However, if you believe that you meet the conditions in order to be eligible, and have not received a form from the city, please contact the call center directly. It is possible in some cases that forms may have been returned to sender on accident.

 

(2) For households where one or more members moved to Hiroshima City on or after January 2nd, 2021
 For these individuals, application is necessary.
