City Hall will be closed from December 28 to January 5, but the following public services will be available during the holidays.

1. Household registry paperwork
You will be able to make registrations that affect the household registry (koseki), such as marriage, birth and death registration, etc., at your local ward office as usual.
2. City Hall Service Corner and Convenience Store Issuance Service

Unavailable from 12/29 until 1/3. Available again in 2025 from 1/6.
✤This service is running on 12/28, 1/4 and 1/5, but only to accept applications for document issuance.
You cannot collect documents on these days.
▣ Convenience Store Issuance Service
Unavailable from 12/29 until 1/3, and again from 1/6 until 1/19.
✤ This service is available on 1/4 and 1/5.
✤ This service will begin using a new system from 1/20.
3. Medical services during the New Year Holidays (12/28-1/5)
▩ Please note that, as few medical centers are open during the end of year break, they will likely be very busy.
▩ Confirm in advance with family doctors for regular visits about chronic issues, and avoid visiting clinics just to request prescriptions during this time. Also if you already feel unwell, try to visit a doctor before the break.
▩ Please refrain from going to medical centers just to receive documents, certificates, and so on.
▩ When visiting clinics, please be careful not to cause a disturbance with inconsiderate parking.
▩ If you are not sure whether you should call an ambulance, consult with the Kyūkyū Sōdan Sentā (Medical Services Consultation Center) and/or the Kodomo no Kyūkyū Denwa Sōdan (Children’s Emergency Medical Helpline).

5. Household waste & human waste collection
Household waste
There will be no household waste collection services between December 31, and January 5. Services will resume on Monday, January 6.

If you live in the following area special garbage collection will be available on January 4.
Combustible waste
If your collection day is Friday, combustible waste will be collected on January 4.
PET bottles, recycle plastics
If your collection day is Friday, PET bottles and recyclable plastics will be collected on January 4.
NOTE:
Even if Friday is your collection day for recyclable waste, harmful waste, non-combustible waste, plastics other than containers and packaging, these will NOT be collected on January 4.
Large waste
If the collection day for large refuse items in your area falls on January 6 or January 7, please be aware of the reservation deadline below. To reserve, contact the Large Waste Information Center.
