For households other than single-parent households: Special Livelihood Benefit for Households with Children (Kosodate-setai Seikatsu Shien Tokubetsu Kyūfukin)
Households with children under the age of 18 (or 19 for those with disabilities) are eligible to receive up to 50,000 yen per child. Applications must be submitted to city hall in order to receive benefits.
👉 Those whose income or those whose spouse’s income is above a certain level are not eligible to receive this benefit.
👉 Receiving repeated payments is not possible. Those who have already received the benefit for single-parent families, which is payable to those who are raising children under the age of 18 (or 19 years old if disabled) on their own due to divorce or the death of a spouse, are not eligible to receive this benefit.
The application deadline for the Special Livelihood Benefit for Households with Children (Kosodate-setai Seikatsu Shien Tokubetsu Kyūfukin) was February 28, 2023; however, the application deadline has been extended to March 15, 2023 (Wed) for individuals who meet the following criteria. If the following criteria applies to you, please send your application to the relevant office via postal mail as soon as possible. Who has the deadline been extended for?
Individuals who have newly applied for Child Allowance (Jido teate) or Special Child Rearing Allowance (Tokubetsu jido fuyō teate) and will start receiving it beginning March 2023.
📌Child Allowance (Jidō teate), which is payable to those who are raising children up to the 3rd year of junior high school or until March 31st following their 15th birthday
📌Special Child Rearing Allowance (Tokubetsu jidō fuyō teate), which is payable to those who are raising children 19 and under with disabilities
👉 If you send it by mail, it needs to be postmarked by the above date.
👉 If The City of Hiroshima cannot confirm your application by this date, due to incomplete or missing documents, you will not be eligible to receive this benefit.

You can receive an application form at the Welfare Division (福祉課 Fukushi Ka) of your local ward office. The application form can also be downloaded on the City’s official website.
