COVID-19: Changes to government support for COVID-19 treatment (as of 5/8/2023)
Beginning on May 8, 2023, COVID-19 was downgraded and reclassified as a Class 5 Infectious Disease under the Infectious Disease Act. Below you can find information about what has changed after reclassification. For more information, please visit the Hiroshima City official website (▪Japanese ▪English). 🔹 Changes to medical and testing fees

Government support only for therapeutic drugs and a portion of hospitalization fees will continue until the end of September 2023. Other treatment fees will be paid by the patient under co-pay. For more information, please check the Hiroshima City website. |

🔹 Changes to services provided by medical institutions
