Support for people affected by the Heavy Rain Disaster (As of August 19th )

There are a variety of services for people who have been affected by the heavy rain that started on August 11th, 2021. The main services are listed below.

Main Services Available

1.Disaster Victim Certificate (罹災(りさい)証明書(しょうめいしょ) Risai Shōmei Sho)

This certificate details the damage done to houses and other buildings during a natural disaster. It is issued free of charge.

2.Relief Money

Monetary aid available for victims of natural disaster

3.Loan Consultation

For individuals who were injured, or had their houses damaged due to a natural disaster, the government has developed several monetary aid programs. Please ask for a consultation if you`re in need.

4. In the event that one`s livelihood has been affected by the heavy rain, and you are having troubles making ends meet, consultation is available.

5. Living Accommodations

(1) If your house was damaged due to a natural disaster, and do not have a place to live, the city and prefecture have municipal housing available for those in need. Housing includes a futon and other essential appliances.

(2) For people`s whose house was damaged, but are not living in municipal housing (1), there are still programs available to provide futons and essential appliances.

(3) For those who need assistance with repairing their damaged house or building, consultation is available.

(1) For information about discounted tuition fees, consultation is available.

11.Medical Services / Heath Insurance

Consultation services available for individuals who need help with insurance fees or other financial assistance in the following areas: Senior Citizen Health Care, Long-term care insurance, National Health Insurance, the Pension Service, Disabled Citizens Welfare, and Minor`s Welfare

 12.Waterworks / Sewage System

For those who need help with reducing their waterworks or sewage fees, consultation is available.

13.Other

(1) For individuals who are currently in the process of submitting paperwork due to a natural disaster the following documents are offered free of charge: Certificate of Residence, Identification Papers, and Seal Registration.
     However, documents processed at convenience stores are not free of charge.

 (2) For those whose houses were damaged, the monthly NHK fees for August and September can be waved. Please call this number to speak to a representative: 0570-077-077

(3)  Public bathhouses
You can take a bath free of charge.
